It's hardware mounted and comes with two sets of mounting brackets for easy use in more than one place. Can be unclipped from one set of brackets and easily relocated to the other set of brackets. Fits narrow to wider openings up to 140cm (55in).

Great piece of equipment
There are no children in my house, but I look after dogs and find this retractable gate indispensable for restricting the dogs movement or making separated space at feeding time. I have two gates, one I use outside my back door which means I can keep any dogs I need to keep an eye on inside, without having to close the door during warm weather. The other splits my back hall in two when I am feeding my ‘guests’. Easy to install and very easy to operate.
